Cyber security committee about to form

Experts say that hackers are one step ahead well duh. They wouldn’t be called hackers if it was easy. It’s funny identity theft has been happening for years and all of a sudden when national security is threatened the government wants to create a national emergency. Although finally putting together a cyber committee is ultimately a good idea the focus should first be the security of the people. Even national government security is understandable although the focus should be resolving the intimate issues first. The article did bring out a good point about companies, stating that the business industry needs to portray their vulnerability in order for the issue to be resolved. The article also advised that new strong virus protections would be needed. However, this article neglected to mention the cost of this operation and how much of the cost would fall to the citizens. Sure, they can design a better protection program but would this program be accessible to the all citizens or just citizens from a certain class. They concluded that forming a committee will solve the problem but many committees were formed before hand and as they came closer to a solution the hackers evolved as well becoming more elusive. I suggest a different approach a united effort of business and common man. In reality a committee should have been formed a long time ago, but this time the tactics need to be different how about they start from the bottom and work their way up instead of the other way around that has consistently failed them in the past.

Texans want better river levees instead of fence

By Suzanne Gamboa

Austin American Stateman

This article is the perfect example of varying positions, the first position being to build a fence and the other to build better water levees. Building a fence is a hypocritical way of solving the issue because society is conveying they want to stop illegal immigration; however it’s funny that we’re to suppose to be the best nation in the world and building a fence is the best resolution we could come up with? Rebuilding the levees at least sounds more practical. Instead of a fence, we’re now looking at something that seems more environmentally friendly compared to that metal monstrosity on the boarder that actually isn’t fixing anything yet we are paying for it. Building better levees at least at the moment seems like the more sound idea because it will cut down the cost expected to be used in building the fence, giving a better lookout point for monitoring the illegal immigrants and even protecting U.S. citizens from floods caused by levee breaches. Honestly, society as a whole needs to give this issue more thought. Citizens can complain about the circumstances and the resolutions, it’s our job to criticize the decision that are made for us by a small group of individuals however we need to come together and think. It’s hard to grasp that the solutions provided were the only comprehendible ones. When in reality we can fix the problem ourselves by rallying together to resolve that we wont hire any more illegal immigrants. Once society stops provide the source (in this case being jobs) the immigration will decrease by multitudes because the people will have no other reason for immigrating. The government can also approach it from another standpoint if they make greater penalties for those hiring illegal immigrants this would solve the issue because employers would stop hiring these immigrants and their return on investment would decrease. However those in power responsible for providing these jobs are greedy and they want to continue to hire low paid workers who are satisfied with their minimal wage. We can’t come to a resolution if society is not on the same page, so even though bettering the river levees seems like a plausible alternative its really no better than the fence idea just a little cheaper.

This articles informs the state of the changes that are going on right in our community that the Hispanic pollution is growing and will be the new face of the Republican avenue or be responsible for the destruction of it. Our local area along with fellow classmates should look into this article because it brings up a valuable discussion in the sense of how Texas will be based in the future, and lets us hypothesize the mutual influence Hispanics will have on the culture. In polling, Hispanics consistently focus on the importance of traditional values like family, the education system, health care and employment and want to secure economic stability. According to the statesman focusing on the Hispanic nation may help to win elections. Currently the majority of Hispanics are voting Republican but there are no set standards for the future however one thing is certain we can look forward to seeing Hispanics in the Senate and the House.
